Single vs. Separate Prime Contracting: A National Study

This study expands on the 1993 publication Single vs. Separate Bidding by looking at prime-contracting issues on a national level and includes an overview of the major issues in the single vs. separate prime debate. Pros and cons of single and multi-prime contracts are evaluated from the perspective of general and specialty contractors as well as public owners. A statistical analysis of differences in construction costs between the two contracting methods is also included.
