Industry Connect – On April 25th, ELECTRI partnered with the Northeastern Illinois Chapter NECA to host Industry Connect for local high school and college students, educators, and contractors. Contractors and industry partners had the opportunity to connect with students interested in the industry by providing opportunities to gain hands-on experience with industry technology and have discussions about the breadth of career opportunities in the electrical construction field.
The engaging and thought-provoking discussions gave both students and educators the opportunity to learn about the trade and test the latest trends and technologies that are shaping the future of the industry. Students were able to get hands-on experience with:
- Robotic Total Stations
- X7 Point Cloud Scanners
- XR10 Hololens
- OpenSpace 360 Cameras
- Drones in Construction
This Industry Connect was a success with over 30 students, five educators, and a dozen contractors in attendance. ELECTRI can’t wait to see what’s next for this dedicated Illinois community and group of students.
Special thanks to BuildingPoint Midwest & Gulf Coast and OpenSpace for leading the interactive stations. Additional thanks to the great contractors who participated and assisted with this event!
Additional Industry Connect events are now being scheduled around the country for Fall 2023. For more information on bringing this key workforce presentation to your area, contact Anna (Trapane) Jochim, ELECTRI’s Director of Future Workforce Development at Anna.Jochim@electri.org.
