The number of technology solutions available to construction companies has grown substantially in recent years with more than 2,000 different offerings on the market. For digitizing timekeeping, the challenges should not be underestimated. For frontline supervision the many different platforms become a significant burden on time and resources.
ELECTRI International – The Foundation for Electrical Construction commissioned a research study to examine how the automation of construction workflows requires internal change management across the construction system. To conduct the study, ELECTRI engaged RHUMBIX, headquartered in San Francisco, to determine a formal approach to innovation deployment and the management of change associated with technology.
The RHUMBIX investigative team and ELECTRI both recognized that process changes must be managed synchronously with upstream and downstream impacts clearly understood by all. Managing change in these functional systems is uncommon in construction companies with high levels of familiarity and comfort with current systems and software.
The ELECTRI report, Digital Transformation at the Supervision Level for Electrical Contractors, includes detailed case studies involving major electrical construction firms, each of which approached the digitalization process differently and each of which experienced very different outcomes.
