Electri International’s annual Green Energy Challenge is now in full swing. Fourteen NECA Student Chapter teams from across the country have entered the 2019 competition.

The competition focus is to have each team select a community organization that would benefit from assistance with an electrical upgrade and direct involvement from the student team’s members.

A jury of electrical contractors and industry partners reviews written proposals and a video summary from each team. Three finalist teams come to the NECA Convention (with financial assistance from ELECTRI) to present oral arguments. The jury then selects the winning Student Chapter. The academic institution the students represent receives a $4,000 award and one student is selected as Best Presenter for an award of $500. A third award is given for the best video presentation.
