At its July 2014 meeting in Toronto, the ELECTRI Council will hear presentations from the three finalists each hoping to be selected for an Early Career Award. The competition, sponsored by ELECTRI International, offers younger faculty members the opportunity to become engaged with ELECTRI and learn more about the electrical construction industry from its members.

ELECTRI’s Program Review Committee has named the three finalists for 2014:

  • Rogelio Palomera-Arias, University of Texas at San Antonio: Using BIM to Conduct Feasibility Analysis of Pre-fab & Modularization
  • Donna Hollar, East Carolina University: Best Practices for Journeyman Transition to CW/CE Supervisor
  • Alex Albert, North Carolina State University: Reducing Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders among Line Workers

The Council will select two award winners. Each will receive a grant of $9,000 and will be required to produce a white paper for distribution to the industry.
